A Family is Forever

September 12, 2009 Sarah was sealed to our family in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. I have waited for this day for a very long time. It was a wonderful day and I am so thankful that Sarah is forever ours. She is a beautiful daughter of our Father in Heaven and I am so grateful He allowed her to come to our family. She is such a joy and it is so much fun to see her grow and see her personality develop. She is such a tease and makes all of us smile. I look at her and wonder what is in store for her, she is amazing and surely has an important job to do here on earth. I look forward to sharing the journey with her. I know I will learn a lot. My dear family, I love you with all my heart and feel so blessed to have each of you in my life. My heart is so full of gratitude and I am grateful to have the gospel in my life, to have the blessing of an eternal family. I don't want any empty chairs, I want to be with each of you and though the journey is not always easy, it is worth the effort it takes. So everyone remember as you journey on, don't forget to gaze upward, look inward, reach outward and press forward. I love you! Love, Mom

Happy Birthday Sarah

Time Flies On Wings Of Lightening

I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Summer has flown by and winter will shortly be knocking on our door. Many things have happened, our son Chad and daughter-inlaw Heather are expecting their first child. Today they found out that it is going to be a boy. They are so excited and we are so thrilled for them and of course ourselves. But how did I get to be old enough to be a grandma? Wow! That word sounds so old. And Megan, she celebrated her 18th birthday a week ago. Wow again! We had the opportunity to go back to Texas as a birthday celebration for her and see old friends and do some fun shopping and of course eat some brisket and Blue Bell ice cream. Time does travel so quickly, funny how it never went that fast while we were waiting for Sarah but now it just speeds on.
Tomorrow is Sarah's birthday. I can't help but think about her birth mother at this time. I am so grateful to her for giving life to Sarah. For the beautiful daughter we have. She is such a blessing to our family and we love her dearly. I hope she will have a wonderful birthday tomorrow and every year after.

Disney World

We took a family vacation and went to Disney World in June. What were we thinking? It was so hot and humid and talk about crowded! Every resort in Disney World was sold out. Most of the rides had around a two hour wait and one day when we went to Hollywood Studios we had decided to go check out the Toy Story ride, it was a two hour wait and the fast pass time was for 9 hours later, this was at 10:00 am, by noon all fast passes had been distributed for the day. Crazy! Usually everyday all the fast passes for everything major were gone by afternoon.

We did have a good time being together as a family though, next time we'll just remember not to go in June. Sarah didn't want to hug the characters but she was much more receptive to them this time then when she saw them at the Hong Kong Disney, amazing what a little time does. She would give them a high five and do "bones" or the hand bump, with the characters. We would try on all the hats in the various stores and resorts and she always wanted to make sure she got to try on a hat as well. She loved to pose for pictures, she is so funny, she will be smiling and laughing but if she sees a camera pointed at her she goes pretty serious, if you can get a smile in a picture it is a great thing. We were waiting for our dinner reservation at the Wilderness Lodge one night and there is a bride inside the lodge that she loved to cross, Todd waited on one side and I was on the other and she would go back and forth crossing the bridge with great determination, over and over again she crossed the bridge. There were a couple of ladies watching her and they were silently counting the times she would cross. Finally we decided we should go check on our reservation and the ladies called out that she had crossed 36 times, she would have kept going had we not stopped her to go check on dinner. The ladies said what a determined little girl she was and that she must have a strong personality and that they thought she would go far in life with that kind of determination. Todd and I smiled to ourselves and thought, if they only knew how strongwilled this little girl is. I think she will indeed definately reach any goal she sets her mind on.

Good Times

Sarah has been home with us for four months now and each day is a gift and a blessing. She continues to grow and blossom before our eyes. We are enjoying the summer days, she loves to be outside, she still isn't so sure about walking on grass but she is getting more use to it.

I love to watch how excited she gets when her dad and sisters come home from work. She squeals with delight as she runs to them with outstretched arms. I knew it wouldn't take long before she had her dad wrapped around her finger and sure enough. It just makes me smile to see them together. Sarah loves family hugs and being together. She is beautiful!!
